I'm taking the Thanksgiving Weekend off, but I've picked out a few random stories from the past for you to (re)read.
Happy Thanksgiving Weekend
#004 - The Old Sock Cap - Hard days come to fathers and sons, but so do good days, however they may come.
#029 - The Bear Story - My headlamp points directly at the bear’s face, who’s face is pointed directly at me. I stare deep into the golden eyes of the beast, as this lazer-eyed bandit stares right back at me.
#047 - Alone - Some go this way, some go that way, I go…..well, I’m not yet sure which way to go. Also see #045
#090 Intro - Six Day NC Coast Bicycle Trip Also see #091, #092, #093, #093.5, #094, #095, #096, #097)
There’s a pleasure in traveling solo, in establishing your own tempo, in delighting in your own spontaneity, in discovering your own voice, in reacquainting yourself with yourself. -Sprawl 9/4/21
We Ran - From my old blog site, I Wonder Where the roads Go Training for and running a trail marathon in March of 2018
We ran through autumn’s falling leaves. through winter’s falling snow. through triple digit heat. through minus digit cold.
We ran through the peace of wilderness. through the city’s busy heart. through the warmth of morning’s sun. through moon shadows of the dark.
We ran through and against the wind. through the rhythm of the rain. through dirt, ice, and snow. through aches, fatigue and pain.
We ran through it all together. -3/10/18
Be sure to join me next weekend for the final day of my 2023 hike from Harpers Ferry WV to Hanover NH - Post #196.
