#111 Brushy Mtn Outpost / N. Scenic Hwy 52 to Weary Feet Hostel - Day 50: ATMM 591.8 – ATMM 610.2
SlackPack Day! & An Old Debt Paid!
After a home cooked breakfast our shuttle driver returns us to where he picked us up yesterday - Brushy Mtn. Outpost. We hop back on the trail where we got off yesterday. Our packs are about thirty percent the usual weight, and of that, most is water. Our heavier gear is waiting for us by our beds at the hostel. Our goal today is to quickly hike twenty miles north to the hostel.
Princess was right about the lack of water on this section. Areas where water would normally run across the trail is dry. There's almost no water lower down between two mountains. What is there is hard to retrieve or is so mucky no one wants it. Even the clouds in the sky refuse to give up any water.
