April 2021

I put in a one month notice to my employer on April first 2021. It was no April Fool’s joke; April 30th will be my last day.

In 2005 April Fool’s Day was the date my window cleaning business officially opened and I served my first client. That date marked the official beginning of a new life and represented a period in my life where a risky decision proved to be the right move. It marked the day that changed the direction of my life. I figured April Fool’s Day 2021 was a good day to reset parts of my life and to set other parts into motion.

A wave of peace washed over me as I walked from that old building into the bright sunshine after giving my notice, confirmation that I had made the right decision. It isn’t that I despise work or had a better job lined up. It isn’t that I had any problems with co-workers or had plenty money saved up to make such a move. No, there were other forces at play.
