#057 Hot Springs Breakfast and Parting Ways
One of my favorite things about small mountain towns are the family-owned restaurants. The food is always so big and so good…..and so big.
Mosey and I climb into her vehicle and head into town for breakfast. One of my favorite things about these little mountain towns are the family-owned restaurants and other local businesses. I enjoy the unique atmosphere of each one; the local people, the sounds of creaking floors or dishes clinking in the kitchen, sometimes the smell of other backpackers filling the air, and the food is always so big and so good…..and so big.
While waiting for our breakfast I check at my phone for the first time and realize it is dead. I try to charge it but it’s not responding. Yesterday’s hard rain must have gotten to it. It’s fried.
Back at the hostel Mosey takes out a pen, paper, pulls up the GPS on her phone, then writes the turn-by-turn directions to an AT&T store in Ashville NC., just like people did back in the olden days, before everyone had a GPS in their back pocket.
