I can live without many material things
The pressures in life that society brings
I’d rather have a swinging bridge to cross
A promise to believe in when all else is lost
Give me sunshine and colored rainbows
I’ll dance in them barefoot in yesterday’s clothes
Gazing at the sight of an ocean sunset
I’ll follow it down ‘till my eyes become wet
Resting on a mountain top, a fish on the grill
Large or small, no matter, I will have my fill
Show me the blueprints to life’s perfect plan
I’ll walk the vast desert in the blistering sand
A cave for a roof just above my head
A log for my pillow, a rock for my bed
Wind softly blowing down a trickling stream
A life of simplicity, a dreamers dream
Green grassy fields and soft rolling hills
Majestic full moon for my personal thrills
Fill my sight with dyed butterflies
Immense white clouds floating by on the skies
Apple trees and bumble bees
A drink from the stream when I’m down on my knees
A friendly shadow cast by the warm sunshine
A friend on rock bottom’s still a friend of mine
We’ll run, jump, and play ‘till the sun goes down
Then he’s gone ‘till tomorrow when he comes back around
Is this a life we should all strive to lead?
Simplicity? Beauty? Wonder? A Dream?
