Time is nonexistent as we continue our exchange, disregarding anything that lies beyond the now.
Another humid morning of hiking awaits us. I’m off my game, still a little dehydrated from yesterday’s heat and extreme sweating. I’m moving a little slower than usual through today’s bland scenery.
We will be in lower elevation for the remainder of our trip, rarely reaching four thousand feet. There will be fewer overlooks with more green tunnels but that doesn’t mean the tough climbs are behind us.
Princess and I arrive at Hardcore Cascades and find Uncle Lody laying on a rock writing in his journal halfway up the falls. He looks relaxed and deep into his writings. Princess fills her bottle and moves on. I pull out my camera and linger a while.
